Long time no see...
It's been a while... I don't want to have it be so close to a year in between posts, but it is what it is. Soooo, let me give you the recap of the last 10 months 🤷♂️
During the last 10 months, a lot have happened, but at the same time, not much have happened... In a professional sense not much have happened. In august I relocated my office the enormous distance of 350 meters. I'm now sitting here, it's a nice change. It's an open office, where I have my own desk with my stuff on it 😊 I have also learned that consulting is probably not my cup of tea (at least not right now). And I'm happy to report that I will be joining the development team at Eika in January 2022. I have nothing against Variant and we are parting on good terms and mutual respect 🤷♂️ I would still recommend Variant as a employer, and if you need some skilled developers and/or designers do not hesitate to contact them 😁
I'm really looking forward to be working at a product company again, and the team seems to be full of talented designers and developers. And being able to with products that are focused on helping people save money feels very good to me 😁
In other news: I finally feel it's save to hit the gym again. Over the summer I've logged over 60 hours mountain biking. During the 20/21 snowboard season I got over 70days on snow. Snow is again falling, and I'm ready for 70+ days in the 21/22 season ❄️
Another cool thing that happened over the summer, Variant have a tradition to employ some students. And this year we worked on my semi-hobby/semi-work project that I started. We took my proof-of-concept digital and dynamic ski resort info board, and took it a step further. It's live now, and the local ski resort is using it. Whats still missing is some manual tcp communication with the actual boards. We are still missing the feature to write messages on the board. Right now we can update the avalanche danger signs, and update whats open or not. So we're getting there. Working/helping the students was very rewarding!
This blog is also rewritten, and is now running on Nuxt.js. This allows me to let Netlify build in the cloud, that again makes it easier to blog. A new post does not require me to rebuild for a post to go live 🙈
